Did You Know?

Why don’t the numbers in the Insights WIP report match the numbers in the Canopy WIP report?

This is because the filters in both reports are slightly different and because the Canopy WIP report includes unbilled expenses which Insights does not have available yet. You can get close to the Canopy WIP report numbers in Insights by adding the following filters:
1. Time Entry is Archived = false
2. Client Archived At = {null}
3. Time Entry Invoice Number = {null}

Please note: Adding these filters will get you close but you may still see variances. This will happen if you have unbilled expenses which are not in Insights yet.

Primary Use Case Scenario

A Partner reviews this during monthly meetings to identify clients with the highest unbilled balances and prioritize invoicing and see how WIP is distributed across service items (e.g., tax prep vs. audits vs. advisory).

Actionable Insights

Helps firms easily identify which services are generating the most unbilled hours and revenue, highlighting practice areas with billing inefficiencies and can help with staff accountability by tracking team member contributions to WIP, helping managers follow up on tasks that are complete but not yet billed.
