What's in this Article

Time reports are meant to give you detailed breakdowns of how your team has used Time in Canopy. You can access reports related to billing on the Billing Reports page located under billing on the global navigation bar. Learn how to Create a Billing Reportโ€ here.

Create a Time Report

1. To get started, click on Time in the global navigation bar.

2. Choose Reports from the slide-in menu.

3. Select a relevant report. Report options are as follows:

Report type:

Permissions requirements:

  • Hours tracked by contact: Shows an hours breakdown by their assigned contact.

Billing Reports, Clients Not Assigned

  • Hours tracked by service item: Shows an hours breakdown by their assigned service item.

  • Hours tracked by team member: Shows an hours breakdown by their assigned service item.

Billing Reports, Clients Not Assigned

  • Productivity by Team Member: Shows a breakdown of what percentage of a team member's hours are billable, and how many of those hours are actually being billed to clients.

  • Utilization by team member: Compare billable time against invoiced time to see how much is actually being made.

4. Some reports allow you to show the breakdown according to different time periods. To use a preset time breakdown, click on the preset dropdown menu.

Choose to show a breakdown by week, month, quarter, or year.

5. Some reports can also be broken down into a custom date range. To select a custom date range, click on the date dropdown menu.

  • Choose one of the quick toggles on the left side of the dropdown menu, or utilize the calendar to select a specific date range.

  • After selecting the necessary custom date range, click Apply.

6. Reports can be exported as a CSV file. To export a report, click the options menu on the applicable report's viewing page.

Click Export CSV.
