Courses & Videos

Where can I find my started or enrolled courses?

All the courses you have enrolled in can be found in the Dashboard tab. Any courses you have started will show your progress status at the bottom of the course card.

Where can I find new courses?

You can view our entire course library in the Catalog tab of the university. Here you can filter courses by difficulty, topic, and type. To view course details, click on View to open the course overview page. Here you can view a description of the course, the learning objective, and a list of lessons. Click enroll to get started.

All of our courses are self-paced, so you can complete them as fast or as slow as you want!

Course Content Not Loading or Displaying Correctly?

  • Refresh the page: Sometimes a simple refresh (usually by pressing F5 or the refresh button in your browser) can fix temporary loading issues.

  • Check your internet connection: A slow or unstable connection can prevent content from loading properly.

  • Make sure your browser is up to date: Outdated browsers might not support all the features of Northpass. Check your browser's settings for updates.

  • Try a different web browser: As mentioned before, this can help identify if the issue is browser-specific.

  • If you see a broken image or video, this could be a temporary issue on our end. Try refreshing the page later. If it persists, please contact support.

Lost Progress on a Course I started

Updated Course Content Restarted my Progress

We are continually updating our materials to ensure they are up to date with our rapidly growing product. Most of these changes will not affect your learning on the University. However, when updates to our product are big enough, we can’t keep the excitement to ourselves. If you have started or completed a course and we have made significant changes to our product, we will push out a new version of our course.

How to know a course has been updated?

You will see this message in your course dashboard:

“Updated courses await you. See (!) on your course titles below to see what’s been changed.”

You will see an exclamation point icon on your course. Click on it and then click Start Course Now to start the updated course.

Why does this restart my progress?

We don’t want you to miss out on the changes, so when major updates are made, it will unfortunately restart your progress. Don’t worry if you have already completed the course in a certification path, you don’t need to retake it.

If you have lost your progress but your course has not been updated, please reach out to support for further assistance.

Videos

Problems with Videos playing?

If a video is not showing or playing, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your volume: Make sure the volume on your computer or device is turned up and not muted.

  • Check the video player controls: Ensure the play button hasn't been accidentally paused or muted within the player itself.

  • Ensure you have the necessary plugins (if prompted): Canopy University generally doesn't require extra plugins, but if you see a message about needing one, follow the instructions.

In-App Guides

We have several in-app guides to help you learn how to navigate Canopy in your account.

Guide link not working:

  • Open Canopy: Try opening Canopy first on a new tab and make sure you are logged in, then click on the link again.

(We recommend the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge).

  • Try a different web browser: As mentioned before, this can help identify if the issue is browser-specific.

Guide steps not working:

  • If you have started a guide but the steps are not working, or it breaks partway through, first try restarting the guide and refreshing your page.

  • If it continues not to work, please reach out to support so we can check the guide settings on our end.

Quizzes

Quiz not showing up in the course

If your quiz is blank or not working, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Refresh the page: Sometimes a simple refresh (usually by pressing F5 or the refresh button in your browser) can fix temporary loading issues.

  • Check your internet connection: A slow or unstable connection can prevent content from loading properly.

  • Make sure your browser is up to date: Outdated browsers might not support all the features of Northpass. Check your browser's settings for updates.

  • Try a different web browser: As mentioned before, this can help identify if the issue is browser-specific.

Retake quizzes

Some of our certification courses require a specific score to move on. You may not get the score your first time, but have no fear, you can retake quizzes as many times as needed.

  • If you are unable to retake a quiz, first try logging out of Canopy University and logging back in.

  • If the issue persists, please reach out to support.

If you encounter an error during submission:

  • Try again: It could be a temporary glitch.

  • Take a screenshot of the error message: This will be helpful if you need to contact support.
