Purpose

To analyze the average length of individual time entries for each service item helping leadership understand how time is being logged across services and identify potential inconsistencies inefficiencies, or training needs.

Need-to-Know Glossary of Terms

  • Service Item Name - Refers to the designation used to identify the specific service billed to the client.

  • Time Entry ID - Unique ID given to every time entry.

  • Time Entry Count by Service Item Formula - This formula counts the number of time entry hours, grouped by Service Item Name.
    ​group_count( Time Entry Hours, Service Item Name)

  • Time Entry Hours - Length of time entry.

  • Average Time Entry Hours - Average length of time entry (using the keyword Average in the search bar and the data point Time Entry Hours).

Report Structure Overview

  1. Y-Axis - Average Time Entry Hours

  2. X-Axis - Service Item Name

  3. Values - Columns representing the service item names

  4. Conditional Formatting - Rule to show column in red when the hours are greater than 4

Suggested Modifications: Want to change the conditioning formatting rule?

  1. Navigate to the Configure panel on the left hand side.

  2. Click on the data point Average Time Entry Hours.

  3. Scroll down to Conditional formatting and select the Edit button.

  4. Press Save.

An Operations Manager reviews this report monthly to evaluate whether time is being logged in appropriate increments for each type of service.
