Purpose

To track and visualize the number of billed hours per service item (e.g., tax, audit, advisory, bookkeeping) on a daily basis, providing insight into how client work is being invoiced across service lines in real time.

Need-to-Know Glossary of Terms

  • Time Entry Hours - Length of time entry.

  • Time Entry Billed Date - The date the time entry was added/lined to an invoice.

  • Service Item Name - Refers to the designation used to identify the specific service billed to the client.


Report Structure Overview

  1. Time Entry Date Filter - Filtered to capture the previous 30 days

  2. Y-Axis - Time Entry Hours

  3. X-Axis - Time Entry Billed Date daily

  4. Legend - Service Item segmented by color

Suggested Modifications: Want to add conditional formatting to easily identify when a service item has gone above a specific number of hours billed?

  1. Navigate to the Configure panel on the right hand side.

  2. Select Total Time Entry Hours.

  3. Scroll down to the Conditional Formatting section and select the Edit button.

  4. Add your desired condition, for example, such as Greater Than 3 hours. Make sure to scroll down to choose your color.

  5. Press Save.


Primary Use Case Scenario

A Billing Manager reviews this report daily to monitor which services are generating billed hours each day and identify which service lines are actively contributing to revenue on a daily basis.
