Insights: Monthly Hours by Team Member

Purpose

To track, per team and by month, the volume of hours worked and revenue impact including billable hours and amounts versus billed hours and amounts. This report can help leadership evaluate individual productivity, billing efficiency, and financial contribution.

Need-to-Know Glossary of Terms

  • Time Entry Hours - Length of time entry.

  • Time Entry User Name - The name of the team member who logged time.

  • Time Entry Start Date - Starting timestamp of time entry duration.

  • Time Entry Billable Amount - Duration of time entry multiplied by the rate.

  • Client Name - Customer name, if a display name exists, that will be the primary search term. If there is no display name, first and last name will be displayed.

  • Service Item Name - Refers to the designation used to identify the specific service billed to the client.

  • Time Entry Billable Amount - Duration of time entry multiplied by the rate.

  • Time Entry Billed Amount - Billed time entry multiplied by the rate.

  • Billable Amount Formula - Calculates the sum of time entry billable amounts.

Report Structure Overview

  1. Time Entry Start Date Filter - Filtered to capture the previous 365 days

  2. Row - Time Entry User Name

  3. Expanded Row Level 2 - Service Item Name

  4. Column values - Time Entry Start Date Monthly

  5. Column values - Billable Time Entry Hours

  6. Column values - Billable Amount Formula

  7. Column values - Billed Time Entry Hours

  8. Column values - billed Amount Formula

  9. Column values - Totals for each row


Suggested Modifications: Prefer to see the full number amounts versus the abbreviated unit?

  1. Navigate to the Configure panel on the right hand side.

  2. Scroll down to the Values section and select one of the data points, for example, Billable Amount.

  3. Select the option None under the Unit drop-down menu.


Primary Use Case Scenario

An Admin reviews this report monthly to assess how effectively team members are logging billable time and converting it into billed revenue. They can also use this report to monitor variances between estimated and actual values.
