The Canopy Client Portal mobile app lets you message your accounting firm, share files, and reference client requests β all from your phone.

Why it matters: Stay connected with your firm on the go β respond to messages, share documents, and track requests without logging in from a computer.
π Note: The Messages section only appears after your practitioner sends you the first message. If you don't see it, contact your firm to get the conversation started.

Open a Message Thread
Log in to the Canopy Client Portal app.
On the home page, locate the Messages section near the top.
Each message preview shows the sender's name, time sent, and the beginning of the last message.
Tap the message to open the thread.
Send a Message and Attachment
Tap the 'Send a comment...' field at the bottom of the thread.
Type your message.
To flag your message as time-sensitive, tap Mark as Urgent before sending.
To attach content, tap the + icon in the circle before sending and choose an option:
Scan with Camera β photograph a document using your camera.
Add from Photos β select a photo from your camera roll.
Upload from Files β attach a saved file from your device.
Link a Client Request β attach a request from your practitioner for easy reference in the thread.
Tap the Send icon.
Interact with Messages
Tap any message in the thread to access these actions:
Like β add a thumbs up reaction.
Mark Complete / Remove Completed β mark a message as addressed.
Mark Read / Unread β control read status for follow-up.
How status indicators appear in the thread:
β Checkmark β message has been marked complete.
π Thumbs up β message has been liked.
Blue line labeled "New" β marks where unread messages begin.
Open an Attachment or Client Request
Tap any image, file, or linked client request in the thread to open it. Tap the back icon to return to the message thread.
Manage Thread Settings
Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the thread.
Select an option:
Turn Off / On Notifications β mute or unmute notifications for this thread.
Participants β view everyone included in the conversation.
