Accessible Data Through Canopy’s API
Once approved and granted secure access to the Canopy Public API, you can access the following types of client data:
Client Contact Information: This includes the client’s name, date of birth, phone number, email address, and physical address.
Client Statuses: Indicates whether the client status is set to Prospect, Active, Inactive, or Archived.
Individual Filing and Business Types: Classification of clients based on their filing or business entity types.
Custom Fields: Any custom fields defined within the system for tracking additional client information.
External ID and Client ID (GUID): Unique identifiers associated with each client.
Linked Clients: Details about clients that are linked or associated with one another.

The Canopy Public API grants access to various client-related data such as contact information, client statuses, classification of business types, custom fields, unique identifiers (GUID), and details of linked clients.
Limitations and Exclusions
While the Canopy Public API offers extensive client data, certain information and features are not accessible:
Accounts Receivable Data: AR data is currently not available through the API.
Unsupported Features: The API does not support integration with Document Management, Workflow, or Time & Billing features.
⚠️ Note: The Canopy API lets you programmatically import client and contact data, but accounts using the CRM 1 are not eligible for API access.
