Note: You must have access to a client to manage contacts. Please reach out to your admin if you don't have access to a client.
To manage your clients and contacts from Canopy Mobile, be sure you have logged into your Canopy account with a preferred mobile device.
Add a New or Existing Contact
Note: You can add contacts on mobile, but their details cannot be edited after they are added. To make changes, please log in to the web version of Canopy.
1. Navigate to a client record and Tap the Contacts Tab.

2. Tap Add Contact on the bottom right.
3. Tap Select Contact to add an existing contact or a new contact.
On the Select Contact Menu:
Tap Select contacts to search for an existing contact.
Tap Create contact to add a new contact.
Tab on a contact on the menu to add, or tap and drag your finger up to scroll the contact list.
If you select Create Contact, fill out the following fields:
First Name (Required)
Middle Name
Last Name (Required)
Birthday
SSN
Occupation
Employer
At the bottom of this screen you can tap:
Add email
Add phone
Add address (scroll down to see this option)
Tap Done in the upper right corner to save, or tap Cancel on the upper left corner to exit without saving.
Next, you can add one of the following information for your new contact:
Contact Type:
Primary Contact
Spouse
Dependent
Other
Contact Description:
Tap the Contact description box and type in whatever information you'd like
Tap Done in the upper right corner to add the new contact.
Invite a Contact to the Client Portal
1. Tap on the Contact you want to send an invite to.
The green icon on the left side of the contact indicates that the contact has already been invited to the client portal.
A gray icon means the contact has not been invited yet.
2. Tap Invite to client portal.
Add a custom message to your invite (optional):
Tap the Toggle Icon to include a personalized message with the client portal invite.
Next, tap the text box labeled "Start typing your message..." and enter your custom message for your client.
3. Tap Invite to complete sending the portal invite.
Once the invite is sent, you will receive a notification confirming it was successfully delivered.
