Search Files
Search for files in Canopy directly from your mobile device. To get started, log into the Canopy mobile app.
Please Note: You must have access to the Contact to search for their files.
1. Tap Files.
2. Tap Internal Files or My Files to begin a search.
3. Tap the Search bar.
4. Enter a search term for any file.
You can search by file name or file type.
5. Tap the applicable file name to preview the file.
Add a File
Upload a file to Canopy via the mobile app. To get started, open the Canopy mobile app on your chosen device.
Applicable Roles/Permissions/Licenses

- Permissions: Contact Files; Upload, Move & Organize Files
- Licenses: Document Management
1. Tap Files.
2. Select one of the available options:
Contact's Files, Internal Files, or My Files.
3. Tap the Add icon.
4. Select the option that best fits the source of the file you wish to add.
5. Tap and hold a file to select it. Once selected, tap additional files to select them too.
6. With all relevant files selected, tap Select to upload the files.
Files will be added to the selected folder and will keep the same name as those stored on your phone.
Scan a Document to the Canopy Practitioner App
Files can be added to Canopy by scanning a photo with your phone camera. To get started, navigate to the files tab and open the add file menu.
1. Tap Scan with camera in the Add File menu.
2. Using the camera on your mobile device, take a photo of the file you wish to upload to Canopy.
- Adjust the blue box to fit your scan document.
- Tap the checkmark or shutter icon.
- A new screen will show you a preview of the scanned document.
3. Confirm the preview image by tapping Keep Scan.
If needed, tap Retake to retake the photo.
4. To scan an additional page, tap another photo.
5. If finished, tap Save.
6. Input a name for the file and tap Done.
Preview and Share Files
From the preview screen, you have the option to share, export, archive, and sometimes print a file. To get started, log into the Canopy mobile app on your chosen device.

1. Tap Files.
2. Select a file to view.
If your file is not able to preview in Canopy, you will be prompted to Export it in order to preview.
Please Note: The ability to preview password-protected files is now available in the mobile app. Simply select the file, enter the password to the file on the pop-up, and you are good to go! Bear in mind that you will need to provide a password each time you open the file.
3. Tap the Options icon.
4. Select the applicable option.
Organize Files
Organize files into folders, and even add a folder, from your mobile device. To get started, log into the Canopy Mobile app.

1. Tap Files.
2. Select the applicable option from:
Contacts Files, Internal Files, or My Files.
3. Tap the Add icon.
4. Tap Create new folder.
5. Enter a folder name in the field provided.
6. Tap Create folder.
Organize Files Into Folders
Easily move files from one folder to another from your mobile device. To get started, tap Files in the Canopy mobile app.

- Licenses: Document Management
1. Tap the more options icon in-line with your selected file.
2. Select the applicable option:
- Rename will enable you to enter a new title for the file.
- Move will give you the option to move the file to a new folder.
3. Tap Move to organize the file in a folder.
4. Tap the applicable Folder.
5. Tap Move here.
