How do I send a Questionnaire using a Secure Link?

Send a secure link to a Questionnaire if the original link expired, or to share it with additional client contacts. The secure link allows clients to complete the Questionnaire without logging in to the portal.


Required Plan, License, and Permissions

  • License Required: Client Management

  • Permissions Required: Must have admin permissions, or Questionnaire permissions enabled.


Why does this matter?

Clients often need flexibility when completing a Questionnaire. A secure link ensures they can access it without logging in to the Client Portal, even if their original link expires or additional contacts need access.

Resend a Secure Link to a Questionnaire

Use these steps if the original link expired or if a client requests a new one.

  1. Locate and open the Questionnaire task.

  2. Click the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the task.

  3. Select Secure links from the menu.

  4. In the popup, review current recipients and the link expiration date.

  5. Click the circular arrow icon next to a link to resend it.

  6. (Optional) Click the X icon next to a contact to cancel the link.

  7. (Optional) Use the dropdown menu to filter by Active or All links.

  8. Click Done.


Send the Secure Link to Additional Contacts

If you need to send the Questionnaire to more client contacts:

  1. Follow steps 1–3 from above to open the Secure Links window.

  2. Click the Add recipients field.

  3. Select one or more contacts from the dropdown list.

  4. Click Done.

  5. (Optional) Toggle Include a personalized message, and enter your message.

  6. Click Done to close the Secure Links window.


How do contacts receive and complete the Questionnaire?

When you send a Questionnaire to at least one contact, the system automatically emails them. That email includes two ways to complete the Questionnaire:

  • Login & Submit β€” the contact logs in to the client portal to fill out and submit.

  • Fill out Securely (Secure Link) β€” the contact fills out the Questionnaire using the secure link without needing a portal login.


Summary

  • Every Questionnaire must be sent to at least one contact.

  • The client receives an email with both login and secure link options.

  • The secure link is valid for 2 weeks and can be resent if needed.

  • You can also send the secure link to additional contacts at any time.
