How do I upload files using a Document Checklist as a Client?

Uploading documents to your practitioner is simple with Document Checklists. These checklists ensure you upload all the files your practitioner needs to complete their work. Log in to the client portal or use the secure email link to upload your files.

Access the Document Checklist

  1. Open the email from your practitioner or log in directly to the client portal.

  2. In the email, choose one of these options:

    • Fill out securely — Opens the checklist in a new browser tab (no login needed).

    • Login and Submit — Takes you to the portal login page.

  3. If you choose Login and Submit:

    • Log in to the portal.

    • In the left-hand menu, click the To-Do List tab.

    • Click the Document Checklist task to open it.

    • Click View Document Checklist to start uploading.

  4. Review the description in the pop-up and click Done to begin uploading files.


Upload Documents in the Checklist

  1. Click Upload file next to each requested file slot and select a file from your device.

    • Above each upload slot, you’ll see the file type requested.

    • Some slots may include upload instructions—review these before uploading.

  2. Rename the file if needed.
    Note: Files can only be renamed or deleted within 10 minutes of uploading.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat steps 1–3 for each file slot until all required files are uploaded.

  5. If a file slot does not apply to you, click Not applicable.

  6. To add extra files not listed in the checklist, scroll to Additional Attachments and click Upload file.

  7. (Optional) Next to each uploaded file, click Rename or the trash icon to delete the file if needed.

  8. Files marked with an asterisk (*) are required in order to submit the checklist.

  9. To save your progress and finish later, click Save in the upper-right corner.

  10. When ready to submit, click Submit to complete the checklist.

After submission:

  • A confirmation notification will appear.

  • The checklist status will update to reflect that it’s in review.
