Monthly Revenue by Team Member (last year)

Purpose

To provide visibility into each team member’s monthly contribution the previous year, by tracking billable hours worked, billable revenue, and billed revenue. This helps leadership evaluate historical performance, efficiency, and revenue realization at the individual level.

Need-to-know Glossary of Terms

  • Invoice Date - The date listed on the invoice.

  • Line Item Assignee - The name of the team member who logged the time associated with the line item.

  • Client Name - Customer name, if a display name exists, that will be the primary search term. If there is no display name, first and last name will be displayed.

  • Service Item Name - Refers to the designation used to identify the specific service billed to the client.

  • Time Entry Hours - This is a measure of Time Entry Hours that have been billed.

  • Time Entry Billable Amount - Duration of time entry multiplied by the rate.

  • Line Item Billed Amount - This is the amount billed for the line item shown on the far right column of the invoice.

  • Time Entry Billed Amount - This is the amount that has actually been billed from the time entry.


Report Structure Overview

  • Invoice Date filter - Filtered to show invoiced dated for previous year

  • Row - Time Entry User Name

  • Expanded Row Level 2 - Service Item Name

  • Expanded Row Level 3 - Client Name

  • Column - Invoice Date monthly

  • Values - Time Entry Hours

  • Values - Time Entry Billable Amount

  • Values - Time Entry Billed Amount

  • Grand Totals - Totals for each row


Suggested Modifications

Prefer to see the full number amounts versus the abbreviated unit?


1. Navigate to the Configure panel on the right hand side.
2. Scroll down to the Values section and select one of the data points, for example, Billable Amount.
3. Select the option None under the Unit drop-down menu.


Primary Use Case Scenario

A Partner reviews this report during performance reviews to compare individual staff contributions in both effort (hours) and financial impact (revenue) this year versus the previous year to quickly identify whether the employee is trending in a positive or downward direction.


Actionable Insights

Identification of strong performers and detection of potential inefficiencies (high billable hours but low actual revenue). Data to support staff development, pricing strategy, and resource allocation decisions.
