Need-to-Know Glossary of Terms

  • Time Entry Hours - The length of time entry

  • Time Entry is Billable - Denotes if time entry is billable or not

  • Time Entry Start Date - The starting timestamp of time entry duration


Report Structure Overview

  1. Time Entry is Billable Filter - Filtered to only include time entries that are billable

  2. Time Entry Start Date Filter - Setup to display the last 365 days

  3. KPI Value - Total time entry hours

  4. Time Entry Start Date - Set to display current month total hours

  5. Change Analysis - Displays an analysis of changes since the previous month so you can quickly identify positive or negative trends.


Suggested Modifications: Want to change the comparison date value from previous month to something else (e.g., previous quarter or previous year)?

  1. Navigate to the Configure panel on the right hand side.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Compare with session.

  4. Choose from the comparison options or create your own by selection Custom.


Primary Use Case Scenario

A Managing Partner reviews the Billable Hours KPI weekly to track whether staff are meeting billable hour targets.This KPI can also be used to compare actual billable hours against budgeted expectations.

Early detection of declining billable performance, possibly due to workload issues.
