When Credits Are Applied
A credit is applied to a client as soon as a task is created that includes a Smart Intake AI feature (a questionnaire or document checklist with Generate with AI toggled on) or a Tax Delivery.
This holds whether the questionnaire or checklist is added directly to a task or included in a task workflow or task template — if it’s part of a template, no credit is used until that template is applied and the task is created.
Credits are tied to individual clients.
You won’t use additional credits for other Smart Intake AI actions or Tax Deliveries for that same client during your current subscription period.
Example
Send a client a Tax Delivery (using 1 credit), and that client now has a Tax Workflow Automation credit applied for the remainder of your subscription period. You can then use any Smart Intake AI feature, or send additional Tax Deliveries, to that same client at no extra cost for the rest of the subscription period.
Subscription Renewal
On your subscription renewal date:
Credits reset, and
You will need to reapply credits to clients as you use Tax Workflow Automation.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You will not be able to apply a task template using AI features or create a tax delivery if you run out of credits. Head to Settings > Account Management to purchase more credits.
