All-New Engagements Experience
Canopy has launched a redesigned Engagements experience that helps firms present services more professionally, differentiate their value, and guide pricing conversations with greater flexibility. The new experience includes a dedicated Engagements workspace while retaining familiar features like templates, bulk send, and billing integrations.
New Engagements in the Client Portal (Mobile)
The Canopy Client Portal mobile apps now support the new Engagements experience on both iOS and Android. Clients can view engagement details, billing blocks, deposits, and embedded media directly from their mobile devices.
Engagement Workspace Enhancements
The Engagement workspace now includes additional tabs for managing related tasks and viewing detailed service information. These updates make it easier to review engagement progress and service details without leaving the engagement.
Engagement Periods Improvement
Engagement periods now align with calendar-year conventions, displaying full-year date ranges instead of rolling year spans. This improves clarity and consistency for firms and clients reviewing engagement terms.
AI Create Questionnaires (Beta)
Firms can now generate questionnaires using AI by entering a prompt, converting an uploaded file, or enhancing an existing template. This beta feature helps firms digitize intake faster while tailoring questions to each client.
Questionnaire Builder Improvements
Several usability improvements make questionnaires easier to manage, including AI-generated summaries, the ability to save one-off questionnaires as templates, and improved tools for moving questions across sections and pages.
Client Portal File Access Controls (CRM 2.0)
Client Portal apps now support contact-level file access controls for firms using the new CRM. This enables firms to manage which contacts can access files and prepares the portal for more granular file and folder permissions.
Improved Task Tracking with Roles and Assignees
Tasks now separate Role and Assignee fields, making it easier to manage queued work and track task ownership accurately. This improves reporting and enables more flexible task assignment workflows.
Preview Recurring Invoices
Firms can now preview recurring invoices before they are sent to clients. This allows teams to confirm formatting, branding, and line items, improving confidence in automated billing.
Surcharging Now Supported in Colorado
Firms operating in Colorado can now enable credit card surcharging through Canopy Payments. This allows eligible firms to pass along up to 2% of processing fees while maintaining compliance with state regulations.
Client and Contact API Support for the New CRM
Canopy’s API now supports the new Client and Contact CRM structure, ensuring integrations continue to work after migrating to the new CRM. This allows firms to sync client and contact data reliably across systems.
Phone Number Field Enhancements
Phone number fields now support extensions and descriptions, improving flexibility during data entry and migrations. These enhancements make CRM records clearer and easier to manage.
Task Comment Email Deep Links (Mobile)
Email notifications for task comments now link directly to the relevant conversation in the Canopy mobile app. This reduces friction and helps users respond faster when working from their phones.
