How Do I Invite and Manage Team Members in Canopy?
Firm admins can invite users, assign licenses, and manage permissions from the Team Organization settings.
Inviting team members correctly ensures they have access to the right modules, clients, and workflows from day one.

Invite a Team Member
To invite a new user:
Click your profile picture or initials.
Select Settings.
Click Team Organization from the left-hand menu.
Stay on the Users tab.
Click Invite New User.
Enter the user’s email address.
(Optional) Write a personalized message or select an email template.
Click Next Step.
Next, assign product access:
Select the appropriate module licenses (e.g., Time & Billing, Workflow, Document Management).
Choose a Permission Set from the list.
Click Send Invitation.
You can:
Select a predefined Permission Set
Choose a custom Permission Set (if already created)
The new user will receive an email with instructions to log in and complete account setup.
Manage Existing Team Members
From Settings > Team Organization > Users, you can view all current users.
The Users list displays:
Name (clickable link to profile and practitioner details)
Current Permission Set (editable at any time)
Last Login
Assigned Clients
Assigned Teams
To assign clients to a user:
Click View & Manage next to the user.
Click Assign Clients.
Select clients from the list.
Assigning clients here is optional, but helpful if you already know which practitioner will manage specific accounts.
You can update permission sets at any time directly from the Users list.
Track Licenses and Subscriptions
To monitor license usage:
Click your profile picture or initials.
Select Settings.
Click Account Management in the left-hand menu.
This page displays:
Active subscriptions
License counts
Module usage
Use this page to ensure you have enough licenses available when inviting new users.
