Customize Preset Task Templates

Canopy provides preset task templates you can duplicate and customize to standardize workflows and speed up setup.

Copy Preset Task Templates

  1. Click Templates in the global navigation.

  2. Select Task in the slide-in panel.

  3. In Canopy Templates, preview options in the Workflow pane on the right.

  4. Click the Duplicate icon on the template you want to copy.

  5. Name your template.

    • Default format: [Preset Template Name] (copy).

  6. Set Template Privacy:

    • Green (On) → Teammates can view/use your template.

    • Gray (Off) → Teammates cannot view/use your template.

  7. Click Copy to create your personal version.


Edit Preset Task Templates

  1. Open Templates ▸ Task Templates.

  2. Click the ⋮ (Additional actions) next to a template → Edit.

  3. In the basic info modal, add or adjust:

    • Dates (fixed/relative/custom), Reminders, Files.

    • Repeat the same on each Subtask as needed.

  4. To modify existing items, hover to reveal Edit / Delete icons and apply changes.

  5. Add Subtask or Client Request blocks to expand the workflow.

  6. Reorder subtasks by drag-and-drop in the Template Workflow area.

  7. (Optional) Update Template Privacy (Green = shared, Gray = private).

  8. Click Save to commit changes.

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t find the preset list. Ensure you opened TemplatesTask; presets appear in the Canopy Templates modal.

  • Colleague can’t see my template. Switch Template Privacy to Green (On) to share.

  • Reminder option missing. Add at least one Date to anchor reminders.
