Customize Preset Task Templates

Canopy has a selection of preset task templates that can be used and customized to help your practice operate more efficiently.

Copy Preset Task Templates

To get started with preset task templates, click Templates on the global navigation bar.

1. Click Task from the slide-in panel.

2. Select a preset template from the Canopy Templates modal.

Templates can be previewed in the Workflow area on the right.

3. Click the Duplicate icon on the appropriate preset template.

4. Input a template name in the provided text field.

  • The template name will default to [Preset Template Name](copy).

  • Toggle the Teammate Privacy switch to choose whether teammates will be able to use your template.

    • A Green switch will allow teammates to view and use your template.

    • A Grey switch will prevent teammates from viewing or using your template.

5. Click Copy.

Edit Preset Task Templates

After a task template has been copied to your personal templates, you can edit the template to better suit your needs. To get started, navigate to the Task Templates page in Canopy.

1. Click the Additional actions icon in-line with a relevant task template.

2. Choose Edit from the dropdown menu.

  • The same process can be completed on each listed subtask.

  • For more information about adding dates, reminders, and files to a task, refer to the Creating a Task article.

4. Edit or Delete a previously created Date, Reminder, or File by choosing the applicable option on each previously created item.

The Edit and Delete icons will only be visible when hovering the mouse over an applicable item.

5. Add a Subtask or a Client Request to the template by clicking the respective box.

6. Rearrange subtasks by clicking and dragging an applicable subtask within the Template Workflow area.

7. If needed, toggle the Template Privacy switch.

  • A Green switch will allow teammates to view and use your template.

  • A Grey switch will prevent teammates from viewing or using your template.

8. Click Save to save any changes.
