AI Meeting Notetaker automatically joins your scheduled meetings and generates an AI summary, action item checklist, and full transcript — all accessible directly in Canopy.

Why it matters: Key takeaways and next steps from client calls are easy to lose track of when you're managing a full client roster. AI Meeting Notetaker captures everything automatically so you can stay focused during the call and follow up without digging through personal notes.
📝 Important Note: Meeting Notetaker only works with scheduled meetings. For ad hoc or last-minute calls, add the meeting to your calendar first and join as usual — the notetaker will join at the scheduled start time.

Set Up AI Meeting Notetaker
Before getting started, make sure your email and calendar are synced.
Click your Profile Icon > Settings > Email & Calendar.
Toggle on 'Enable Canopy Notetaker in this account'.
Once enabled, the notetaker will automatically join all scheduled meetings and generate an AI summary, action items, and transcript.
At the scheduled meeting start time, watch for the Canopy Notetaker to appear in your meeting.
The notetaker joins at the exact scheduled start time. If you join the meeting early, it will not appear until the meeting is set to begin.
Click the three-dot icon on the notetaker notification on the right side of the meeting, then allow it to join.
Note: Once the meeting is ended, the transcript and notes will generate. This may take some time.
Find Your Meeting Notes
Meeting notes are accessible from two places: the Global Inbox shows notes across all clients; a Client Record shows notes for that client only.
From the Global Inbox:
In the Global Navigation bar, click Inbox.
Click the Meeting Notes tab.
Select a conversation from the left panel to open it.
From a Client Record:
Navigate to the Client List and open a client record, or use the search function to go directly to a client.
Click Communication > Meeting Notes.
Select a conversation to open it.
Review a Meeting Note
The steps below apply whether you opened the note from the Global Inbox or a Client Record.
In the Summary tab, review the AI-generated summary at the top.
Below the summary, review the follow-up list.
Check off items as you complete them.
Click the Meeting Transcript tab to read the full transcript.
To associate the note with a client, click the Link to client dropdown, type a client name, and select the correct client.
