How Do I Record Meeting Notes in the Canopy Mobile App?

Record client conversations on the go and get an AI-generated summary, transcript, and follow-up checklist — directly in the Canopy Practitioner App.

Client conversations don't always happen over scheduled calls. Mobile Meeting Notetaker lets you capture in-person meetings, quick check-ins, and ad hoc conversations from your phone — so nothing falls through the cracks when you step away from your desk.

💡 Beta: This feature is in Beta. Enable it in Settings > Experimental Features before getting started.

⚠️ Important: Recording conversations may require all-party consent depending on your jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws before recording.

Start a Recording

  1. Open the Canopy Practitioner App and log in.

  2. Tap Inbox.

  3. Tap the Meeting Notes tab.

  4. Tap the microphone icon in the bottom right corner.

  5. Read the consent notice, then tap I Understand, Start Recording.

    • The recording timer appears on screen once the recording begins.

    • If you navigate away from the screen, recording continues in the background. A notification remains visible so you can return to the recorder at any time.

📝 While recording, tap Pause to temporarily stop and Resume to continue, or tap Delete Recording to permanently discard the current recording without saving.



End and Save a Recording

  1. Tap Pause to temporarily stop the recording, then tap Resume to continue.

  2. Tap End Recording when the conversation is complete.

  3. Enter a title for the meeting note in the title field.

  4. Tap the client dropdown and select the client to link to this note.

    • You can link multiple clients to the same note.

  5. Tap Save.

    • The note will display Processing Summary while the AI generates the output. This may take a few minutes.



Review and Edit a Meeting Note

Once processing is complete, tap the meeting note to open it.

  1. Review the AI-generated summary.

  2. Review the full transcript.

  3. Review the follow-up items listed below the summary.

    • Tap the checkbox next to any follow-up item to mark it complete.

Skip the steps below if you don't need to edit the note.

  1. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the meeting note.

  2. Select Edit.

    • You can update the meeting title and linked client(s). Multiple clients can be linked to the same note.

  3. Tap Save when finished.



Summary

Mobile Meeting Notetaker captures client conversations directly from the Canopy Practitioner App and generates an AI summary, transcript, and follow-up list — no manual notes required. Start a recording from Inbox > Meeting Notes, then access and review completed notes from the same tab once processing is finished.
