Review your roles in Canopy after the import to confirm they're assigned correctly to team members and clients, then notify your Data Migration Specialist.
Why it matters: The import may need adjustments — roles that weren't assigned, incorrect permissions, or team members who need access to additional clients. Catching these now ensures your access structure is correct before your team starts working.
Table of Contents
Review Your Imported Roles
Go to Clients > Client List.
On the left side, click the three vertical lines (menu icon).
Select Customize Client List.
Scroll down to Roles.
Select All to display all role assignments.
Select Done.
You'll now see your client list with all imported role assignments displayed. Review this view to confirm:
Each team member is assigned to the correct clients
The right roles are assigned for each client
No team members are missing access to clients they should have
Request Changes if Needed
Skip this section if all roles are assigned correctly and no changes are needed.
If you spotted issues that need fixing, you have two options depending on the scope:
For large changes:
Update your original Roles Workbook with the corrections.
Use the secure upload link from your Data Migration Specialist to resend the updated file.
For minor changes:
Create a list or note of the corrections needed.
Email it directly to your Data Migration Specialist.
Confirm Import Completion
Within 7 business days of reviewing the roles, email your Data Migration Specialist to let them know:
You've reviewed the imported roles
You're satisfied with the import (or that changes have been submitted)
They'll confirm with your Implementation Specialist that you're ready for the next migration steps.
Summary
This article walked you through reviewing your imported roles in the Client List and verifying team members have the right permissions for each client. After confirming everything is correct (or submitting any needed changes), email your Data Migration Specialist within 7 business days to move forward.
