How to Verify Your Client Data After Migration

After your data has been imported into Canopy, review your client records and billing information to confirm everything transferred correctly before signing off with your Migration Specialist.

Verify client information

  1. Go to Clients > Client List.

  2. Click a client name to open their record.

  3. Confirm the client's name, SSN, address, DOB, and other key fields are correct.

    • Repeat for at least 5 of your most important clients.



Verify accounts receivable

  1. Go to Clients > Client List.

  2. Click a client name, then select Billing.

  3. Review the billing dashboard and confirm that Invoices, Credits, and Outstanding balances all look correct.

    • Repeat for at least 5 of your most important clients.


Report changes or sign off

Complete this step within 7 business days of receiving your migrated data.

  • If you have corrections: Contact your Migration Specialist with a list of changes needed. Do not make changes directly in Canopy until your specialist confirms.

  • If everything looks correct: Let your Migration Specialist know you're satisfied with the migration. They'll notify your Implementation Specialist so you can move on to next steps.



Summary

Spot-check at least 5 clients for both record accuracy and billing data, then contact your Migration Specialist within 7 business days to report any corrections or confirm your sign-off. This keeps your implementation timeline on track.
