Canopy has partnered with Tri-Merit to offer a special service to our customers. Tri-Merit is a tax firm that focuses on helping businesses with special tax credits.

One of these credits is called the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). It's a refundable tax credit that certain businesses can get if they kept paying their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic or had a big drop in their income. The credit is available for a specific period of time, from March 13, 2020, to December 31, 2021. Eligible employers can claim the ERC on their tax returns for that time period.

Tri-Merit also helps with other specialized tax credits like the R&D credit, cost segregation, and WOTC.
