  • How to create WIP reports for Client groups.

Group Billing

One of the great features of client groups is the ability to utilize group billing!

First, as a reminder, you can view and edit your client groups by clicking on clients in the global navigation bar and then clicking on client groups. If you want a refresher on client groups you can click on this link.

Create an Invoice

To create an invoice:

  • Click on the global plus button

  • Then select Invoice.

  • Select a client group.

  • You can edit the invoice number, invoice date, and terms.

  • When selecting a client group you will need to identify which client you will send the invoice to.

Invoices are sent to the client portal which means you need to select the specific client portal you wish to send this invoice to.

  • Below you can as service and any time and expenses associated with this client group. For a more detailed look at the ins and outs of creating an invoice, you can check out this video.

One thing to note: When invoicing a client group you will notice an additional column that indicates which client in the client group for whom you completed the service, time, or expense.

  • When you are ready you can preview and send.

Create a WIP Report

You can also view your Work in Progress or WIP by client groups as well. To do so got to:

  • Time

  • Wip Report

  • Group by Client group

This will organize the report by any of your client groups.

You can select a group to see a breakdown of your unbilled hours and expenses by each client in the group. Here you can also see the last invoice date and amount, as well as the unbilled revenue.

  • Click on View WIP for an itemized breakdown of every time and expense in this client group that is unbilled.

If you wish to add to our create an invoice from this list:

  • Select the time entries and expenses you wish to add

  • Then select add to the invoice.

  • You will notice you have the option to create a new invoice or you can select link to existing invoice. You can do this if you have already billed for this service or time and want to simply link to the invoice you have sent to your client previously.

Let's go ahead and create a new invoice and just like before you will select the client to send the invoice, and you can add any services, and then preview and send.
