How Do I Use Group Billing for Client Groups?
Group billing allows you to create invoices and review WIP at the client group level while still tracking activity by individual client within the group.
Why Use Group Billing?
If you manage related clients (for example, multiple entities under one owner), group billing helps you:
Bill services across multiple clients on a single invoice
Track unbilled time and expenses by client group
Maintain visibility into which client each service or expense belongs to
Simplify billing workflows without losing detail

Note:
When invoicing a client group, you’ll see an additional column indicating which client within the group each service, time entry, or expense is associated with. This ensures accurate tracking across related entities.

Select a specific client group to view details.
From here, you can:

Create an Invoice from the WIP Report
If you want to invoice directly from the WIP report:

Click Add to Invoice.
Choose one of the following:
Create New Invoice
Link to Existing Invoice (if you’ve already billed and need to associate entries)
Select which client portal within the group will receive the invoice.
Add or adjust services as needed.
Click Preview, then Send.
This workflow is especially helpful during month-end billing or when reviewing unbilled work before invoicing.
Summary
Group billing allows you to invoice and track WIP across related clients while maintaining client-level detail. You can:
Create invoices at the group level
Monitor unbilled time and expenses by group
Convert WIP into invoices directly from the report
This keeps billing efficient without sacrificing visibility.
